Advantages of LCD over Plasma Displays

- Power consumption: a TV with a large plasma display can consume up to 30% more electricity than an LCD TV.
- Effect of "screen burn": if the display stays on for a long time showing static images (like logos or news headlines), it is possible that image could be fixed or overwritten onto the plasma display. However, this effect has been addressed since the eighth generation. (At the moment, these displays are in their eleventh generation and this is no longer a concern.)
