Dangerous substances in Mexico

What are the explosive substances?, How can be classified explosive substances?

In total, 481 substances are gathered in the two lists (233 toxic substances and 248 flammable and explosive substances) in Mexico. It is expected, following the example of other countries that have reviewed and adapted their lists according to experience and advances in understanding, the current listings will be revised for suitability.

In particular, lists could be revised because various chemical species have been identified that are included in the same commercial product. For example, propane, butane, 1-butene, 2-butene, 2-butyne, 2-methyl -propylene, and propylene are all contained in LP gas and do not need to be considered separately. The same is true for gasoline, for which 38 species are listed, or other substances that have different isomers. Making unnecessarily long lists will not reduce the risks in their management.

It is important to note that when deciding how to classify high-risk activities in Mexico, it was thought inappropriate to simply adopt any of the classifications of another country, since the reality in Mexico may be completely different, the awareness and ability to handle hazardous materials may be different,  and the vulnerability of populations living near the hazardous activities may be higher.
