US-based specialty chemicals provider Lubrizol has completed the acquisition of detergent compounds producer Warwick Chemicals.
Warwick Chemicals creates key compounds used in laundry detergent powders and automatic dishwashing products.
The acquisition will allow Lubrizol to enhance its portfolio of rheology modifiers, functional polymers and surfactants.
The company said that the acquired business will facilitate its position to offer integrated solutions to its customers.
Warwick Chemicals will continue to operate under the same name, but as part of Lubrizol Advanced Materials, under Lubrizol's personal and home care business.
Lubrizol and Warwick Chemicals signed the agreement for the transaction in November 2014.
Lubrizol personal and home care vice-president and general manager Rick Tolin earlier said: "Consistent with our long-term strategy and vision, we are always seeking to expand our portfolio with technologies that provide solutions, add value to our customer's products and deliver consumer benefits."
The company's personal and home care division offers functional and active compounds designed for skin care and hair care applications, as well as bath, shower and home care products.
Lubrizol also offers speciality materials, including plastics and performance coatings in the form of resins and additives.
The latest news comes after Lubrizol concluded its purchase of Weatherford International's oilfield chemicals business and drilling fluids businesses.
