The additive manufacturing market is witnessing an increasing need for printable polypropylene material with high chemical resistance and hydrophobic properties, the company noted.
M Holland Company has announced a partnership with Braskem to exclusively distribute the latter’s new polypropylene filament for 3D printing applications.

The partnership will enable M Holland Company to better support clients in developing prototypes and creating various other applications.

In addition, it is expected to strengthen the company’s offerings from existing 3D printing supply partners such as BASF, Henkel, Owens Corning and 3DXTech.

Braskem’s polypropylene features a proprietary formula that provides high stability, low warpage and consistent extrusion, which makes it ideal for prototyping. Normally, this material is avoided for prototyping or production of 3D printed parts due to high failure rates.

The company’s suite of 3D printing polypropylene products such as FL100PP and FL105PP is claimed to offer stability, balance and impact resistance.

Holland 3D Printing market manager Haleyanne Freedman said: “The 3D printing market has seen increased adoption of additive manufacturing technologies and applications due to machinery commoditisation and expanded material offerings.

“Our partnership to distribute Braskem’s 3D printing polypropylene products will enable our clients to finally use genuinely 3D printable and easy-to-use polypropylene, opening up a world of applications.”

M Holland’s additive manufacturing engineers yielded repeatable and dimensionally accurate outcomes during the trial test of Braskem’s polypropylene materials.

Braskem North America New Ventures and Digital director Jason Vagnozzi said: “We are proud to introduce our high-performing polypropylene material to the 3D printing market and explore developing opportunities in this space.”
